Start-ups in Africa have already raised more than $2 billion (exc. exits) in 2025
After a buzzing month of July, August has been pretty quiet so far in terms of start-up funding announcements on the continent. That said, enough has already been raised to cross the $2 billion mark in start-up funding in Africa (exc. exits). This is a good performance in itself, and means the continent is well on track to raise more in 2025 than it did in 2024 (with less than $250m to go). But it is also very encouraging if we compare to previous years, as August was also the month we celebrated the $2 billion milestone in 2021 and 2023…
